Description

The hut Erjavčeva koča is situated on one of the most important mountain crossroads between the Gorenjska Region and The Trenta, on an idyllic hill full of larches, on the northern side of the Vršič Pass. It boasts one of the most beautiful views in our mountains: looking eastwards, above the screes of the stream of Suha Pišnica, you can admire mighty walls of the Prisank mountain and spot a rock face of “The Pagan Girl” (Ajdovska deklica); on the left there are Martuljek mountains with Špik and Škrlatica rising high above the Krnica basin. Your view to the south is hindered by the slope of Vršič Pass, whereas westwards you can see the slopes rising to the Vratca Pass between Nad Šitom glava and Robičje, which spreads on towards the north.

The Erjavčeva is an ideal starting point for easy or other less demanding hikers. Is getting more and more popular also among cyclists, and it holds the certificate of “Cycling accommodation facility of 1st level”.

The hut is open during the winter time as well, offering a warm stay to all the lovers of winter mountaineering. It stands practically in the middle of “winter playground” for wonderful winter tours, ski touring, gully climbing as well as for demanding alpine climbing.

The hut is spacious and suitable for courses and lectures, various camps and outdoor learning, having a multimedia lecture room for 30 people. It’s also a great place to organize a private party, a wedding, or other events.

The menu is made to satisfy people with different tastes and eating habits. It offers all sorts of “spoon-consumed” meals, or full-course meals, and you won’t be hungry if you’re a vegetarian or even a vegan. The youngest and all who’ve got a sweet tooth will be able to enjoy the sweet goodies prepared in the hut.

While you let yourselves spoil with various culinary delights your children can play on the outdoor playground or in the indoor children’s corner. The hut has a “Family-friendly mountain hut” certificate.
